Movie Monday | 08/13/12

I haven't done one of these in a while. We've started getting back into our groove of watching a few movies a week, so I thought, why not start today.
Theatrical Poster

MovieThe Hunger Games
Rating!!! (Out of 5)
Upside- I'm a big Jennifer Lawrence fan.  I'm an even bigger Liam Hemsworth fan.  For the most part, I thought it was a pretty decent adaptation of the book. I mean, considering all the hype surrounding it.
Downside- Buuuut, the Peeta character just ruined it for me.  I didn't like him in the book.  I disliked him even more in the movie.

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Following you back.

Interesting. The only person I struggled to like in the movie was Haymitch. I had envisioned him so differently. I had never seen a movie with any of characters. I felt this was a great adaptation, and I look forward to it coming out on DVD--the 18th. And the next two films.

  17. I'm with you. I think it's an age thing. Girls under 20 are Peeta fans, while women over 20 love Gale. I have to say though, if given the choice, I'll pick his older brother Thor any day. ;)

  21. brooke from babybearhugs.com following you back. I read the entire trilogy in 4 days I loved it so much!! I am so surprised that you disliked Peeta! I didn't like the actual actor that they chose. I thought he should have been more nerdy cute personally.

  22. I loved Peeta in the book, and even though I like the actor that played Peeta in a lot of things, he did not fit the part for me. The one that played Gale would have been more Peeta-esque to me as what I envisioned. I loved the books, though, so I will own the movie.

  24. I love going to the movies, but The Hunger Games is one movie I haven't seen yet. Now I will have to wait till it comes out on DVD to rent it. Also, I would prefer reading the series first if I could though.

  28. I bounced back and forth on whether I liked Peeta. I liked him better in the movie than in the book (maybe because I already knew his personality?) but we haven't seen all of the movies yet so that might change. I really dislike how the books ended so i'm kind of hoping the movies play out a more involved ending for me.

    xoxo,
    Melissa

  29. I loved this movie. I rarely go to the movie theater, b/c I like to see movies at home, but this one was worth it. Not interested in the books. I have learned not to mix the two. Either I'm a movie fan or a book fan. The movies rarely do the book justice.
